Welcome to the neighborhood.

I live here.  Above a bar.  Next to a convenience store.

The view across the street.

This is looking to the left.  You can see that many of the homes in my 'neighborhood' are located above restaurants, bars, and convenience stores, as a template.  This continues for about 10 or 15 square blocks, perhaps.

This is looking to the right.  You will notice an Asian aversion to what we Westerners embrace as "signage," or those metal objects strapped to posts and jutting out of the sidewalks.  All signs hover from above, or temporary/inflatable advertisements are set out front.  You will notice a complete and total lack of parking regulation.  This sets the theme for traffic regulation, in general.

This is looking left again, towards the elevated track of what is the subway into Busan, with the mountains a few kilometers beyond.  You might notice that this intersection is completely unregulated, and like all other intersections in my neighborhood, the local custom is to progress with "rolling stops," if they even bother to slow down at all...   (oh, oh!  Notice the fish-eye mirror sported in the rear-window of this small SUV!  About 80% of all vehicles sport this kind of arrangement, with about 40% sporting an additional set of auxiliary mirrors located at the front corners.  Visibility is very important when everyone drives like an outlaw)
